If you bleed Falcons blue, Friday night was a good one. No. 5 seed Green Hope (9-2) beat No. 12 Willow Spring 49-17 at home in the first round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 8A playoffs. It was 21-17 through three quarters before the Falcons pulled away.

Senior quarterback Ryder Schorzman had 339 all-purpose yards. Junior AJ Davis broke it open with a 57-yard touchdown run for a 35-17 lead, and Graham Schwing closed the scoring with a 30-yard pick six.

“There aren't a lot of people who could answer a 0-10 season and bounce back in two years with a playoff win.”
